2. How We Moderate Content

We use a combination of automated systems and human moderators to enforce our policies:

2.1 Automated Detection

Our automated systems scan content in real-time to detect potential violations. This includes:

  • Pattern matching for known harmful phrases and slurs
  • Detection of threatening language
  • Identification of harassment patterns
  • Profanity and inappropriate content filtering

2.2 Three-Tier Response System

Severe Violations

Threats, extreme harassment, hate speech, self-harm encouragement

Action: Content is blocked immediately. User receives 2 strikes.

Moderate Violations

Personal insults, mockery, dismissive attacks, gaslighting

Action: User sees a warning and can revise their content. If posted anyway, content is flagged for review. User receives 1 strike.

Minor Concerns

Condescension, passive aggression, borderline content

Action: Content is posted but silently flagged for moderator review. No strikes issued.

2.3 Human Moderation

Our moderation team reviews flagged content, handles appeals, and makes final decisions on borderline cases. Human moderators can overturn automated decisions when context warrants a different outcome.

3. Strike System

We use a progressive discipline system to address policy violations:

  • Your old username becomes permanently retired (no one else can use it)
  • Changing your username resets your points and tier level

5. Encouraging Positive Behavior

We don't just punish bad behavior—we reward good behavior. Users who consistently contribute constructive, thoughtful comments may receive:
