Yes! You can read all threads, comments, and discussions without logging in. However, you'll need an account to post, comment, or vote.
Visit the forgot password page and enter your email address. We'll send you a link to create a new password. The link expires after 1 hour for security.
User tiers recognize your contributions to the community. As you participate, you earn points that help you progress through tiers:

Points can also be deducted for policy violations, so remember to follow our Content Policy.
Go to Settings to update your email address or change your password. You'll need to confirm changes with your current password for security.
In your Settings, find the Security section and click "Enable 2FA." You'll need an authenticator app like Google Authenticator or Authy to scan the QR code. This adds an extra layer of security to your account.
Usernames cannot be changed after account creation. This helps maintain accountability and allows other users to recognize you. If you need a new username, you'll need to create a new account.
To delete your account, visit your Settings page and look for the account deletion option. This action is permanent and cannot be undone. Your posts and comments will remain but will be attributed to "[deleted]".

ThreadChain supports basic Markdown formatting:

Click the menu (three dots) on your post or comment to see edit and delete options. Edited posts will show an "edited" indicator. Deleted posts are removed from view but replies to them remain visible.

Voting helps surface the best content. The score determines how threads are ranked on the homepage and in sections.
Posts may be removed if they violate our Content Policy. Common reasons include spam, harassment, personal attacks, or posting to the wrong section. If your post was removed, you should have received a notification explaining why.
Use the search bar in the navigation to find threads by keyword. You can also filter results by section, author, or date range. Visit the search page for advanced options.

Hold the backtick key (`) while on any webpage to enter selection mode. Hover over elements to highlight them, then click to capture that text as a quote for your discussion.
Yes! Click the extension icon in your browser toolbar to access settings. You can toggle the widget visibility, change its position (any corner), or use the keyboard shortcut Alt+H to quickly hide/show it.

Click the flag icon or "Report" option on any post or comment. Select the reason for your report and add any additional context. Reports are reviewed by our moderation team and kept anonymous.

Warnings are issued for first-time or minor violations. Multiple warnings can lead to temporary or permanent bans. If you believe a moderation action was incorrect, you can appeal through the contact form. Select "Moderation Appeal" as the subject.
Visit the user's profile and click the "Block" option. Blocked users won't be able to see your content, reply to you, or send you messages. You can manage blocked users in your Settings.
